Day 1: Machachi 3,000 masl - Ruales Oleas Berge Refuge 4,700 masl
We will start our Climb Cayambe Volcano Summit trip after checking our climbing equipment we leave Machachi at 09:30 am heading north to the town of Cayambe where we have lunch. With renewed energy, we continue for another 2 hours in our 4x4 transport to arrive at the Ruales Oleas Berge refuge, located at 4,700 masl. Dinner is served at around 18:00pm, and then we rest for a few hours.

Day 2: Ruales Oleas Berge refuge 4,700 masl – Cayambe summit 5,790 masl - return to Machachi 3,000 masl
Our day starts at 23:00pm. After packing up, we enjoy a light breakfast and within an hour we are setting off for the summit. The route consists of approximately 2 hours to reach the glacier and another 4 hours crossing several slopes and crevasses to reach the summit. Once at the top we enjoy the beautiful views of many volcanoes, among them Cotopaxi and Antisana. The descent is by the same route, which takes around 3 hours. At the refuge we pack up and return to Machachi.
